Skin Cancer Reconstruction

Skin cancer is a common condition affecting individuals with significant cumulative lifetime sun exposure and genetic predisposition to this disease. Skin cancers are optimally removed with a MOHs technique (by MOHs dermatologic surgeons), which assures greater than 99% cure rate for most basal and squamous cell skin cancers.

Wounds resulting from skin cancer excision, especially if large in size and situated on the face, can be quite deforming and disfiguring. Optimal repair of such wounds requires meticulous planning and execution in order to camouflage final scars and diminish scar visibility.

Dr Mashkevich has extensive experience in repairing skin cancer defects and can discuss your options in advance of your skin cancer surgery.
